The employee is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facilities, property and individuals through security patrol and the monitoring of all security systems. The employee must also provide information and respond to individuals in a customer service-oriented manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responding to multiple and sometimes pressure situations and functioning in an efficient, calm manner using sound judgment in all situations.
Patrolling all assigned interior and exterior areas of the facilities including, but not limited to: public access areas, meeting spaces, staircases and stairwells, truck ramps, loading docks, parking garages,outside staircases, rooftops, specified areas, and public walkways.
The employee must be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment. Additionally, he/she must also successfully pass a bi-annual medical evaluation and the annual Security Officer written and practical evaluations.
Individuals hired into this position must serve a probationary period of three months. During the first thre  e months of probation an employee will receive pay rate increases at the following completion of hours worked: (0 hours to 160 hours, 160 hours to 480 hours, 480 hours to 800 hours. Additional pay rate increases and promotions will occur at the following completion of hours: 800 hours to 960 hours, and 960 hours to 1920. At this time, the security officer moves to (LO) Lead Officer provided he/she is in good standing with a clean employment history with (BG).

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Education/Training
High School diploma or general education diploma (GED).
Law Enforcement, Military Police, Federal Law Enforcement, or any recognized Law Enforcement Agency requiring Post Academy Certification.
A "MINIMUM" of two years law enforcement, military police, federal law enforcement, or security experience is required. All experience must be substantiated through employers, certificates, awards, or a combination of each.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must be able to obtain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment at employee cost.
All Washington applicants must pass Washington State Pre Assignment Training and Post Assignment Training Exams.
Applicants must apply for Washington State un-armed guard license within (24) hours from date of hire at employee cost.
Must be able to pass all criminal background investigations.

Experience/Skills
Requires the ability to react to a variety of situations in a calm and productive manner and respond to multiple questions and inquiries in a professional, pleasant manner. Requires the maturity and skills to maintain the proper image of Blackstone Group U.S.A., LLC and effectively work an unarmed or armed security position in a customer service-oriented manner. Requires the ability to main tain a team-oriented work relationship as well as the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, post orders and operating and procedure manuals. The candidate must have the ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with co-workers, guests, and clients. Ability to quickly interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Strong decision-making abilities are required.
